Why are youth and young adults using dog/bear spray on other people?

I noticed that many young people use dog or bear spray on others. This is primarily due to acts of aggression toward an individual or a group. The reasons behind such behaviour vary from peer pressure, thrill-seeking, or malicious intent. Some people might consider it a prank, while others do it to assert their dominance in confrontational situations. However, this kind of behaviour is viewed as an act of intimidation, harassment, and assault.

Individuals would rarely use such repellents for self-defence.
