Arrest Warrants For Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu & Defense Minister Yoav Gallant

I think the International Criminal Court could be a threat to American security interests, because the prosecutor of the court has enormous discretion in going after war crimes. ~ John Bolton

Has the international criminal court avoided opening an investigation into alleged war crimes in Gaza due to political pressure. The answer is an unequivocal โ€œnoโ€. As prosecutor of the ICC, I reject any suggestion of this in the strongest terms. ~ Fatou Bensouda

There are arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of serious war crimes linked to recent military actions in Gaza.

In this case, charges against these two individuals from The International Criminal Court (ICC) and led by ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan are as follows:

Netanyahu and Gallant continue to oversee the systematic assault on civilians in Gaza, preventing access to essential resources like food, water, electricity, and medical aid.

  • wilful killing of civilians
  • civilian starvation
  • a range of inhumane acts - such as physical and mental abuse and torture

The ICC states the above charges amount to both war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Israeli forces, under orders from Netanyahu and Gallant, have carried out airstrikes and military actions leading to over 40,000 civilian casualties.

Planned and systematic mass murder of civilians is excessive and targeting civilians qualify as war crimes under international humanitarian law.

Israeli forces continue to restrict critical supplies of food, water, fuel, and medicine for Gazaโ€™s civilian population.

Under the Geneva Conventions, cutting off resources essential for survival to civilians is a war crime, whether in international or non-international conflicts.

Israeli military under orders from Netanyahu and Gallant continue to cause extreme and severe suffering due to bombings, displacement, and interruptions in healthcare for Gazaโ€™s non-combatant infants, children, teenagers, women, elderly, intellectuals and the disabled.

Israelโ€™s control over Gazaโ€™s borders, airspace, and supplies since the military withdrawal in 2005 leaves it responsible under occupation law to protect civilians from such suffering.

These two individuals: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant need to be arrested.
