A pessimist is a fully informed optimist. He's taking into consideration how complex the world is, preparing for difficulties, and finding hope in being informed. What we generally refer to as fate is nothing more than the sum of our decisions and actions. Being conscious of it gives you control over your life and enables you to shape your future with much wisdom.
Life is one big mess, yet it all falls into place. Every delay and every surprise is part of a bigger story that's moving us toward growth. And loss teaches us the value of what we had, to appreciate what we have now.
Oppression and injustice are instruments of deliberate divisions and weakenings in society. By standing up against these forces, you stand guard to defend the foundations of civilization. Compassion is one of the powerful acts that returns human dignity and ripples on, creating hope. Every stand for justice contributes to the wheel of change that even the most powerful oppressor will fall.
Neutrality in the face of injustice cements the side of the oppressor. A choice has to be made in acting to fight against inequality. The moral traditions invite us to hear the cries of the poor and oppressed and build a society based on justice and equality.
