Trump does not understand borders as definite lines but rather as obstacles that should be erased.
His declaration that Canada is to become America's 51st state was not a figure of speech, but an allusion to intentions.
President Donald Trump believes, the Canadian and American shared border is an illusion, a thin line drawn by lesser men.
Quite similarly, Greenland, the Panama Canal, and now the Palestinian Gaza strip will make no difference to Trump.
If these four sovereign nation states serve America's interests, they must be controlled, either by diplomacy or by American force.
This is the mentality of building an empire. Expansion is a must, not an option.
