Will Canada Become the 51st State?

"In 10 years, this sleepy Canada will be ripe for annexation - the farmers in Manitoba, etc., will demand it themselves. Besides, the country is half annexed already socially - hotels, newspapers, advertising, etc., all on the American pattern." ~ Friedrich Engels

"There are probably 400 to 500 people, water protectors, north of the 1889 boundary, that was the result of an illegal annexation of treaty territory by the United States against not just the Standing Rock Nation, but the entire Lakota Nation and members of the Great Sioux Nation, the Oceti Sakowin. And so, other tribal governments are weighing in and supporting a fight on the ground, as they have a right to do." ~ Chase Iron Eyes

As suggested in an earlier blog post, according to OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) data, Canada has one of the highest rates of adults aged 21–64 with a post-secondary degree in the world. Due to this fact, Canadian socio-political and economic adaptability and resilience in extreme situations such as the American tariff war will force this highly educated society to innovate and thrive otherwise economically.

Canadian sovereignty is very deep within the Canadian identity. While Trump escalates trade wars, and continues to threaten Canada's sovereignty by telling the world that Canada will become the 51st state of America, Canada will dig deeper to resist annexation, by economic diversification and adaptation.

Canada is the U.S.'s largest trading partner in most sectors such as oil, manufacturing, softwood, steel, aluminum, rare Earth minerals, and agriculture. Tariffs will hurt American businesses that rely on Canadian goods, forcing pressure on American, primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary sectors to lift restrictions.

Canada has a very strong sociopolitical resistance against any form of American forced annexation into the USA Republic via economic tariff wars.

U.S. tariff war is in response, actually bringing Canada into transition towards domestic refining and processing and selling raw materials to strong historical allies such as the UK, Commonwealth states, and the EU.

Canada is currently diversifying its European (CETA) and Asia-Pacific (CPTPP) trade relationships, particularly with China, India, and other destinations.
