"In a sense, artificial intelligence will be the ultimate tool because it will help us build all possible tools." ~ K. Eric Drexler
"You can't just stop technological progress. Even if one country stops researching artificial intelligence, some other countries will continue to do it. The real question is what to do with the technology. You can use exactly the same technology for very different social and political purposes. So I think people shouldn't be focused on the question of how to stop technological progress because this is impossible. Instead the question should be what kind of usage to make of the new technology. And here we still have quite a lot of power to influence the direction it's taking." ~ Matt Haig
Everything that civilisation has to offer is a product of human intelligence; we cannot predict what we might achieve when this intelligence is magnified by the tools that AI may provide, but the eradication of war, disease, and poverty would be high on anyone's list. Success in creating AI would be the biggest event in human history. Unfortunately, it might also be the last. ~ Stephen Hawking
China is leveraging advanced artificial intelligence and generative artificial intelligence to transform its manufacturing industry, greatly enhancing efficiency and facilitating production around the clock. A prime example of this is the emergence of "black factories," entirely automated factories with no human involvement, in which AGI systems coordinate and operate the entire manufacturing process.
This deep combination of AI and AGI allows Chinese manufacturers to produce a gigantic range of consumer and military goods at a record speed and cost. The result is a vast amount of affordably priced items that flood world markets, a phenomenon widely referred to as a "tsunami of cheap Chinese goods."
Within the military, the very same AI-capable manufacturing is being employed by China for advanced technologies of the military, such as smart AI and AGI drones and automated platforms. This establishes China as a future power in the production of military tech.
One remarkable illustration of the scope and size of China's manufacturing push is BYD's new electric car factory in Rayong, Thailand. Spanning the equivalent of nearly 132 football fields, the factory shows not only China's industrial capability but also its ability to replicate its model in other countries.
In its apparel industry, China has also implemented digital upgrades, with its intelligent high-speed water jet looms operating independently using artificial intelligence. It is a broader trend, where AI is not only increase functions but also optimizing entire manufacturing systems, such that China's manufacturing capabilities are the world's most productive and advanced.
The American oligarchs are now becoming much more concern with China outpacing America in advanced artificial intelligence manufacturing in all sectors of the economy. America, maybe too late.
