Trumpism Fear & Greed

"Nobody can solve debt problems like me." ~ Donald Trump

"I've always felt fine about Putin. I think he is a strong leader, he's a powerful leader, he's represented his country the way - the country is being represented." ~ Donald Trump

"I'm going to fight for every person in America who believes government should serve the people, not the donors and not the special interests." ~ Donald Trump

"Any violation of civil rights will be aggressively pursued and prosecuted by my administration. No one will be above the law." ~ Donald Trump

"When I started out in business, I spent a great deal of time researching every detail that might be pertinent to the deal I was interested in making. I still do the same today. People often comment on how quickly I operate, but the reason I can move quickly is that I've done the background work first, which no one usually sees. I prepare myself thoroughly, and then when it is time to move ahead, I am ready to sprint." ~ Donald Trump

You see fear and greed send markets soaring and plunging, brushing against your hand in your savings account to the broad tides of the world economy.

Your pension does not seem so reliable, and the firms you rely on always appear to be getting ready for the next round of volatility. You see tariffs, taxes, and levies employed as a policy instrument in the past but now employed as weapons in an open war for dominance. Technical choices previously taken now come with ultimatums and threats, with a President claiming billions of dollars pouring into the U.S. Treasury on a daily basis because of all nations of the world.

But you can feel the tension there burning just below the surface. Wealth is seeping away. Confidence is waning. The government that governs your nation appears irresponsible. And you begin to see something larger at work, an empire falling apart at the seams. Not through war, but through bullying, intimidation, and an economic foreign policy that repels friends and trembles the very markets it's trying to control.

It has not been 100 days in office yet for the Trump Administration. What will America and the rest of the world be in four years?
