In hindsight, President Trump exchanging campaign rhetoric handing out make-believe promises such as the Halloween candy of the kind that involved promising to resolve the war between Russia and Ukraine on his first day as President.
Apparently, global wars now succumb to magical thinking and Trump's signature black Sharpie foreign policy.
Over 117 days since his reelection, Trump is now demanding another ceasefire, anxiously calling up European leaders and even the Pope, as if the Vatican was a war room. Peace can be ordered like room service at Mar-a-Lago, according to Trump.
But the real shocking slap in the face? He's offering Putin a sweetheart deal, an "almost free" trade treaty with America for a ceasefire.
Yes, start a war, a gruesome traumatizing bloodbath of hundreds of thousands of men, women and children, and get rewarded. Typical Trumpism, reward the strongman, ignore the victims, and spin it all as "making deals."
Perhaps, and only perhaps, Trump and his think tank advisors are realizing that American Executive and Congress bipartisan government helped to turn Ukraine into a meat grinder by sending hundreds of billions of dollars of weapons to the Ukraine on their proxy war from the sidelines.
In fact, many of the weapons that were sent to the Ukraine were then sold on the black market to gunrunners, shipping many of these killing weapons into other parts of the world.
Don't hold your breath, though, for a self-confession of the Trump Administration or any other government official in Congress. This isn't about peace, it's about drama, headlines, and reruns of "America First" with a special guest star, Putin.
