Everyday Bball Training For My Son, My Kid, My Student Athlete, My Youngest

PARKER and his parents.... For years! Since Parker was 8 years old... And his older brother trained everyday for years...

We do weights or "strength training", EVERYDAY!

Plyometrics twice a week for years.

We do BASKETBALL TRAINING, EVERYDAY!

We get him to do speed track Sprint training twice a week at the University Butterdome during the winter and at Scona and at St. Albert through the spring-summer-fall year for the past 5 years.

Everyday, minimum of 420 makes from layups, floaters and runners, mid-range, free throws, 3s and long distance 3s, and at least a half an hour of handles, and then finally 1v1. It's well over 10,000 hours or over 5 years of training.

If you question his skill set... please think about it... have you been in the gym 5 or 6 days a week for the past 5 or 6 years everyday?

My oldest boy has been in the gym for over 7 years almost everyday, even when we were sick with a cold or some flu or even during the covid pandemic, we always went into the gym.

Parker was with us training even as a little guy at 8 years old. Now he is 18 years old continuing his training regiment everyday, and now soon he will be at college taking a business degree program and playing college basketball, one of only a handful of high school students in Edmonton that have received a college/university basketball offer right out of high school.

As a dad/father and a teacher and as a school administrator bringing my boys, my sons, to my schools, training them, and keeping them in my sphere of influence, guiding them towards future success, future goals. As parents, we are blessed.

I will not get into detail what Parker does everyday for training or when he shows up for runs at the bball courts in the city, or showcasing his skill sets and his determination and his resiliency by trying out for college basketball teams, all I am telling you, he is determined to succeed in life.

Like others that were jealous, you can try to belittle him, you can try to target him, you can lie about him, you can try to incriminate him. He knows his cultural, social, political, historical, he knows his generational family histories. He understands the family generational trauma and he understands the racism and discrimination clearly.

And, he's ethical, moral, truthful, and as a whole, Parker is Indigenous and Italian, he is rooted deeply in his family, his cultures, he is religious, and as a family, we always seek moral justice. We explained to Parker, some people have tremendous amount of envy and jealousy and they hate to see a person like yourself or us as a family to be successful; some individuals will try everything to bring you down to bring any of us down; some people will plan for weeks or months to try to entrap you or lie about you or encourage others to do the same toward you, all behind your back secretively; while you're not looking while you're not noticing, and at the same time, these individuals pretend to be your friend or an advocate for you without showing their true nature of hate towards you and us as a family.

Parker, you are not society's ingrained historical stereotypical indigenous 18-year-old male:

  • You do well in your academics without trying.
  • You have built up elite basketball skills with well over 10,000 hours of elite specific training.
  • You have a well above average IQ, your test assessment scores attest to that fact.
  • You are an eclectic reader
  • Socially, you have a higher above average social awareness, you see individuals in multiple perspectives, especially the ones that side eye you.
  • You understand many motives and complexities of racism and discrimination against indigenous and other peoples of colour.
  • You don't backstab anyone, you don't waste your time on such ridiculous unethical motives.
  • You were well parented.
  • You have no relational aggressiveness toward anyone.
  • You are extremely resilient
  • You never give up
  • You were accepted to multiple colleges and universities in Alberta and British Columbia to start your Business Degree
  • You have short-term and long-term goals and plans to continually succeed in life.
