“... looks very much like genocide...” - EU Commission Vice President Teresa Ribera’s stark assessment of the Gaza crisis

Israel’s power over Washington has become so blatantly visual throughout the world to every nation state, absolute that Tel Aviv is the true capital of the United States. In just 22 months, more than 100,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed, slaughtered by drones, airstrikes from planes and warships, and relentless land to land missile fire, and Israeli soldiers shooting starving Palestinian adults and children. The world politicians have all watched in silence as Israel’s government greenlights another two or more years of military occupation, a slow, grinding continuation of ethnic cleansing and genocide.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan for a full military takeover of Gaza was approved by Israel's security cabinet this week, marking the beginning of a more sinister phase in this conflict. Netanyahu has publicly stated his desire to annex all of Gaza, and the Israeli Defence Forces have been ordered to get ready to take over. Unconditional support of Benjamin Netanyahu from the Trump administration has given its political blessing to what many perceive to be a genocide campaign.

However, there are cautions even among Israel's own people. Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, IDF Chief of Staff, has warned that such an operation could increase the risk to hostages. There has been a lot of condemnation outside of Israel. Citing serious humanitarian repercussions and obvious violations of international law, the UN and governments from all over the world have called on Israel to stop its actions. Nevertheless, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan continues, showing that political will and power always prevail over morality, ethics, the law, and human life.
