A Society of Gun Violence

โ€œMass shootings do not disrupt American life; they are American life.โ€ - Chris Hedges

โ€œThe gun has ceased to be a mere instrument; it has become the sacred totem of American identity.โ€ - Richard Slotkin

โ€œWhen children and teachers are murdered in schools, and the nation shrugs, that is not freedom, that is the pathology of a dying empire.โ€ - Noam Chomsky

โ€œIn America, violence is not an interruption of daily life, it is the rhythm of daily life.โ€ - James Baldwin

On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University. Charlie was not included in the list of school shootings. He was a political guest speaker on a college campus, it was a political execution. Equally important to note, there had already been 46 school shootings in America by September 10, 2025. There were twenty-two schools and twenty-four college campuses as targets of horrendous gun violence. 18 people were killed and 75 injured.

Evergreen High School joined the list of school shootings just hours after Charlie was assassinated, bringing the total to 47 school shootings, 19 deaths, and 77 injuries!

This is America, a society of gun violence.

It is an extremely sad reality of American life that both adults and children are shot dead in schools, colleges, and universities.

In America, the gun is no longer a weapon. It is an identity, a deathright, and a power to take a life. Fear and hatred have become commonplace. Schools and colleges, experience violence until such violence becomes meaningless. American life is not being disrupted by such violence.

This is life in America. A culture that is descending into its own collapse for the love of gun culture.
