Telegram App Founder

"Encryption...is a powerful defensive weapon for free people. It offers a technical guarantee of privacy, regardless of who is running the government... It's hard to think of a more powerful, less dangerous tool for liberty." ~ Esther Dyson

"I believe that if you took privacy and you said, I'm willing to give up all of my privacy to be secure. So you weighted it as a zero. My own view is that encryption is a much better, much better world. And I'm not the only person that thinks that." ~ Tim Cook

Pavel Durov, the founder of telegram, in jail, in France.

The founder of Telegram is charged for specific Telegram users' activities!?

Durov is not charged for his own personal use of the app but the usage from anonymous individuals using the messaging and social media platform.

Durov, the owner of a so-called encrypted messaging app, which is not even close to comparison of the signal messaging encryption protocol which has social media capabilities and the app has approximately 1 billion users and growing.

Durov, who is world famous and approximately worth $9 billion, is a huge advocate for freedom of speech.

Now ironically Durov is in jail in France that prides themselves on a history of democratic freedom of speech.

Is France trying to prove to the world they are cracking down on personal messaging privacy, especially online encryption messaging regulation?

Many governments will probably follow suit against owners and CEOs of messaging systems that are highly encrypted.

Will this be an attack on personal messaging privacy in democratic and non-democratic countries?
