In the cold shadow of recent crises, Europe stands exposed, confronted by an undeniable truth: it is tragically unprepared.
A European war lurks at the borders, pandemics arise like unwelcome spectres, and the earth itself shudders beneath us—yet we linger in a dangerous slumber of complacency.
Why did NATO countries keep pushing Ukraine to join as a junior member of NATO on the doorstep of its historic, interlinked big brother, Russia?
- NATO viewed Ukraine’s potential membership as a means to enhance regional security against perceived Russian sphere of influence.
- NATO countries aimed to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and democratic development, aligning it with Western ideals rather than Russian sphere of influence.
- Integrating Ukraine into NATO would act as a deterrent, limiting Russia's sphere of influence.
- NATO saw Ukraine as a strategic advantage, bringing the alliance closer to Russia’s borders and potentially curbing Russia’s sphere of influence in Europe.
- Some NATO members view Russia’s opposition as diplomatic posturing rather than a genuine red line, underestimating the extent of Russia's resolve.
- NATO, led by the USA, wants a strategic advantage, blocking Russia’s economic, social, and political sphere of influence in Europe and increasing the NATO nations. The greed of NATO nations.
Now, European leaders are imploring their people to cast off illusions of safety and arm themselves not merely with weapons, but by stockpiling essentials, embracing self-sufficiency, and rooting themselves in an unyielding resolve to endure whatever calamities may come.
If they fail to heed these signs, they risk becoming victims of their own neglect, for the future promises only harsher trials.
