KYP - Know Your Personnel

You have to understand your own personal DNA. Don't do things because I do them or Steve Jobs or Mark Cuban tried it. You need to know your personal brand and stay true to it. ~ Gary Vaynerchuk
"In most cases, strengths and weaknesses are two sides of the same coin. A strength in one situation is a weakness in another, yet often the person can't switch gears. It's a very subtle thing to talk about strengths and weaknesses because almost always they're the same thing." ~ Steve Jobs
The best strength in basketball is knowing your team.
You need to know every player's strengths and weaknesses, from the sharpshooter's precision to the defender's tenacity. This way, you can customize their training to enhance their physical capabilities-speed, strength, and agility.
You also have to identify areas for improvement and guide each player through targeted drills and feedback to sharpen their edge. Other keys to success is motivation, know whether your players are driven by personal glory or the thrill of team success.
Clearly outline goals, both personal and collective; celebrate successes to develop a supportive atmosphere.
Then there is communication. Vary your feedback to each player's personality, balancing frankness with encouragement. During team meetings and huddles, communicate clearly and concisely so everyone is on the same wavelength.
Finally, well-define roles, underlining the unique value of each player. At the same time, allow room for flexibility in growth outside of their main responsibilities. By reinforcing these roles and fostering team chemistry, you build a cohesive force that can pull off any strategy.
